Welcome to the Social Club!

The Social Club is a valuable village asset.  As a committee, we are keen to ensure there’s a varied programme of events throughout the year, with hopefully something for everyone!  This year we have already hosted 3 really successful pop-up cafes over the winter months, and in April the ever popular touring company, Eastern Angles came to Creeting St Mary.  An event that was very well supported.  There have also been three monthly Friday afternoon/evening family games and BBQ events, with June’s event also encompassing a visit from the Suffolk Owl Sanctuary.   It’s a brilliant opportunity to meet up with other families, and it is wonderful to see Blacksmith’s Field, which is such a fantastic community space, being enjoyed by so many.  The third of our Summer BBQ events has just taken place and was really enjoyable, with a visit from Over Power Needham Market who undertook to provide a community ‘boot camp’ on Blacksmiths Field.  We had about 50 participants, of all ages, who were put through their paces by Curtley, before returning to the village hall for refreshments and a BBQ!  A great community event with a lovely atmosphere,

Our most recent event, a quiz night on 14th September, was a sell-out!  The combination of a great quiz and good food was a winner, and hopefully this will become an annual event in our social calendar!

Moving into autumn we have the ever popular Harvest Horkey on 12th October and of course, the annual Fireworks Night on 1st November.  We are also excited to say that we have Martyn Joseph, a very well known folk act, coming to Creeting St Mary on Friday 29th November.  Tickets are likely to go fast, so get yours soon!  There’s a discounted ticket price for social club members  Further information on all of the events can be found in the events listing, but please ask if you have any questions or want further information.  And, if you have any ideas for future events you would like to see take place, then please let us know!  We’d love to hear from you!
